In Message #17516, Mr. Pizer made the case for moving Alcor's patients to a
safer location in Arizona's high desert. I think that's an excellent idea,
certainly better than leaving them in a standard light-industrial building
in an urban area.

I've visited Alcor's facility in Scottsdale, and I was struck by how easy it
would be to force or even blow open the back part of the building where the
patients are stored, with only metal garage doors between them and the back
lot. There is also the fire danger posed by other tenants in the Acoma
Street building, for even if Alcor is careful about fire risks, others in
the building with a more casual attitude towards their lives and property
may not be.

Basically the cryotransport project requires us to consider and deal with
risks that people resigned to their mortality wouldn't bother with.
Relocating the patients to a more secure facility should be a high priority
for Alcor's new regime.
