As to whether my logic was faulty, I leave it to the reader. As to "sensitivity," one can only smile, considering the source. Mike usually leads the field in urging candid honesty over political correctness. He also says that Arab/Moslem hostility toward the U.S. results from support of Israel and from oppostion to our freedom and capitalism etc. As to the first, talk about short-sightedness! This is akin to the claim that Arab hatred of Israel results from the "occupation." Anyone with Darwin's pretensions to being a student of history should remember that Arab/Moslem hatred long preceded the "occupation"--the wars were a RESULT of Arab hatred, not the cause. (Of course the "occupation" made it easier to brainwash Arab children from birth, and those children--like most German and Japanese soldiers in the world wars--are relatively innocent victims of history. But an enemy is an enemy, regardless of reasons.) As to the second, I'm not quite sure what Darwin's point is. Is he recommending that we abandon freedom and capitalism to reduce Arab/Moslem hatred? Or that we refrain from defending ourselves? Spokesmen for Arabs and Moslems in the Detroit area, and elsewhere, have said that they are just as horrified as other Americans, and just as eager to punish the perpetrators. Let's hope the percentage of truth in this is high. Needless to say, CI (and cryonics generally) is non-political, and my political opinions are individual.
