X-Message-Number: 17627 From: Date: Thu, 20 Sep 2001 08:59:25 EDT Subject: Pichugin fair4us (#17622) asks for news about Dr. Yuri Pichugin at the Cryonics Institute. I did, I believe, post a brief update just a few days ago, but I'll repeat it. Dr. Pichugin's own new laboratory (not far from the main CI facility) has taken somewhat longer than expected (as expected) to prepare--physical upgrades to the building. But it should be ready by around the time of the annual meeting at the end of this month. Meanwhile, he has been procuring, preparing and testing equipment and working on his research plans. At the meeting he will present his program as currently envisaged. (Visiting scientists from Michigan universities may also be present.) As I have said before, we are not requiring or anticipating any quick Hallelujah break-through, just steady progress in improving our procedures, which will continue to be systematically evaluated by both outside consultants and in-house methods.
