Well, I had to rub my eyes and read this post a few
times to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding. But no,
Mr. Haftka does appear to suggest that I should
reconsider my view that the murder of innocents by
terrorists is a despicable and cowardly act ... I
should instead see terrorism as the work of good and
honest men who are simply using traditional tools to
promote their political/military agenda. I am being
asked to somehow excuse their actions because they are
the underdogs.

Perhaps it is your view that is colored. I suppose if
I'd grown up being told by a loving father that
terrorism was justifiable if the cause was a good one,
I would probably believe him too ... until I grew up
and started thinking for myself.

Sorry, but terrorists really are "misguided or
deranged individuals, supported by fanatics".

There is no justification, no rationalization, no
excusing terrorism ... period.
