Subject: CRYONICS: Re : Suspension temperatures

With the following disclaimer, I will ask a simple question from a
non-technical member. The disclaimer: I know nothing about" safe" cryonic
preservation techniques. The question: There was cryonet discussion
about a different possible suspension temperature to the one Alcor
currently uses. In either case, liquid nitrogen was assumed to be the
cooling agent. That seems odd to me. Isnt it preferable to first try to
determine the temperature most appropriate for preservation and minimum
damage, and then find the cooling medium best suited for that temperature?
