I won't dwell on the issues of the metaphoric "I" probably being generated
from recursive thought via language from which the "subjective" experiences
arise (though I find this argument compelling).

I will only suggest that as you read this, a machine of some complexity
(your body) seems to be generating these "subjective" experiences.

It would seem to make sense that what one machine can do might be
duplicatable by another machine, and perhaps not one formed of the same
stuff (protoplasm).

Beyond that we shall simply ahve to wait and see.
