RE:
Why wouldn't we just ask VAL do figure out how we can
become as intelligent as it is before it becomes self
aware?

Scott Badger

Well I would have thought that this computer would have been built
because it is capable more than our brains are capable of, and mostly
because of its computational speed. Surely VAL would answer: you have to
become the equivalent of me. That would mean becoming the machine. Or
maybe I don't understand your question correctly Scott?
William

And RE:

If telepathy exists it should be entirely possible to devise statistical

tests to prove your contention. Why can't you parade such studies before
us.
Could it be that no such evidence exists?

I thought I did prove examples of statistical evidence? Re:
At both distances, when the stimulated subject showed distinct evoked
potentials, the non stimulated subject showed "transferred potentials"
similar to those evoked in the stimulated subject. Control subjects
showed no such transferred potentials.

And Gary again:
William, don't take this the wrong way, but I really do think that you
would
get a more favourable hearing for your ideas on another list. I suspect
there are lists that deal with the paranormal, ufos, tree hugging,
astral
projection .....etc.

/gary

Surely you would know that objective truth can not be found buy Arguing
with people who agree with every thing you say. Or is that what you
want?
William
