Subject: Question regarding your cloning response ...

Greetings,

Carole Eklund asked (#18142)__

The brain of course is the main part of the person, and "revival" MEANS
revival as the same person, or as nearly as the laws of nature permit.

Robert Ettinger replied __

3)Does cloning play a part in the reanimation process,

No.

*****
How is it possible then? If only the brain is held in cryostasis,
as is the case for many patients, how are they to obtain a new body.
It is one of my nightmares to think that we could end up in the bodies of
robots, without free will!
My first preference is to have a clone of my old body (though the temptation
for just a few
little refinements is irresistable). This way it is my dna, my cells and my
will that creates me...
& of course the cleverness & persistance of doctors, researchers &
philosophers.

Could you please explain this misunderstanding?

Regards,
Tracey Simon
