If you need some good "outing" clothes you may try to shop arround here
in Finland for example where some people in the road-department actually
have to carry out 8 hour days in the open dressed in insulating
working clothes. However our temperatures here are just at -32 C, but
in northern Finland it is colder, and temperature has never justified
for not going to work or shutting shools like in the US.

The reason you can put down your arm shortly in liquid nitrogen is that
the arm is so much warmer that it cooks nitrogen bubbles arroud it
instantly and they insulate somewhat.

We have much experience about cold-damage that happen to skee-ers and to
uncareful winos. It is fine as long as you can "feel" the coldness, but
if some part of your body cannot feel any longer you are destroying that part.
Be careful please, but no need not to experiment, we are forced to do it here
dailoy in the winter anyhow. Please do not hesitate to write me and ask
any questions you may have.
