It is up to your cryonics provider to arrange reanimation - you do not need
to do it yourself.

The conversion of matter to a glass like state at low temperature instead of
freezing it

> - i am male and would like to be re-animated with my thoughts and
knowledge into a female body. how do i plan this?

First you save your life, and deal with these issues when you are
reanimated. As far as I am aware no cryonics organisation would want to get
involved in promising anything like this. I would also imagine in many
instances requests for reanimation in a different configuration or species
even could make cooperation from next of kin much more difficult. It has
been suggested in the world of the future it may be possible to take on many
configurations, including bodies as yet unconceived that can survive in the
vacuum of space and in high radiation levels, or under the oceans. But these
are issues for the future, not for cryopreservation organisations now.

> - i am married and 40 years old with 3 kids now, what plans should i be
making?

Obtain a means of funding, get your family's consent (see above), and sign
up with one of the cryonics organisations. If you are still not sure about
signing up, start an investment fund right now - if you change your mind,
you can always spend it on something else. If instead of investing you take
out life insurance, make sure that it is of an appropriate form for transfer
to a cryonics agreement later.

> - will the re-animator manage money that can be put aside today for use
when awakened?

Unfortunately no, but it is likely in the future you may not need money for
the purchase of material objects. How the purchase of protection (paying
taxes and legal fees) and living space will be arranged I am not sure. You
may well be given some money to start off when reanimated. As legal costs
are so high it is not really practical to expect cryonics organisations to
include formal arrangements about this. Also laws change with time, and any
formal arrangements could fail over the time the patient is cryopreserved,
possibly for hundreds of years.

There is a seperate reanimation foundation, and you can invest in anything
until you die, but thereafter, for legal and administrative reasons, your
assetts only grow at two or three percent per annum in their own fund. Look
on http://www.cryonics-europe.org and click on Reanimation Foundation in the
menu for more details an email link.

and when re-animated into another body, will it be similar to wakening
from a sleep

No one can promise anything, but I would say it would be more like awakening
from a general anaesthetic, ie you have no consciousness of passing time.
