For me cryonics presents a lost opportunity. I have been taking care of my
severely cognitively disabled son for twenty three years. Yes, I have put my
life on hold for him. I hope one day I will through the aid of cryonics get on
with my life. Maybe there are other people in my situation out there that need
to hear about cryonics. Disabled people would have problems with cryonics
because they are not allowed to have any assets. Not even a cemetery plot. All
life insurance have to be declared. Otherwise they will not get SSI or other
government help. All their assets have to be hidden under the name of a trustee
they that can be trusted. It is possible that they will lose their government
support. Even worse the state can seize such hidden assets to pay past expenses.
Note it would cost the State $100,000 a year to take care of a very disabled
person. Very old people fall in this category. Maybe that is why old people do
not sign up for cryonics.
