You know, I'm surprised that there's even a discussion about Kass's devotion to 
mortality, and I'm suggesting that the people who share his devotion remember 
why the U.S. was created: to ensure the rights of the individual. Maybe Kass 
likes death; but that, by NO means, implies that I do. As far as I am concerned,
if I want to live forever without causing others harm, what's the problem? 


Of course, we could objectify this argument: If we take away the power death 
holds over all of us, then it's highly likely that many organizations that 
capitalize on mortality would make a desperate bid to keep their power. (One 
would compare the World Trade Center disaster to this. Isn't it such a 
coincidence that it happened AFTER the human genome was mapped and cloning 
became a real issue?)
