I have only heard about this one being a problem in fictional stories--
is there any basis for being concerned about a high energy particle
accelerator mishap destroying the space-time continuum on any level,
save, perhaps, a quantum one? I am rather skeptical.

BTW, I had a friend of mine send me the url for this web site earlier in
the year with a comment about it being a scam. It seems he was less than
impressed with the track record of some of the people who are involved
WRT the fate of the Atlantis Project. (I have to admit, paying out a
small fortune to an architect to make a model of the city seemed a very
poor choice to me, considering how limited the funding was.)
