Where is the safest place to be?
By: David Pizer

With all the noise Bush is making about nuclear targets, shadow governments,
more protections from outsiders, it should be obvious that he is about to enter
a new phase of trying to rid the world of terrorists. Most experts now agree
that it is no longer a question of *if* terrorists will attack major cities
with nuclear suitcases or other weapons of MASS destruction, but just a matter
of which major cities will be first - and when.

We don't know exactly where the safest places in the USA will be for the next
100 years, but we know where the dangerous places are: New York, Washington DC,
the whole East coast, major populated cities anywhere in the USA.

A war with terrorists will present different targets. In a war with a major
country, you worry most about your defense plants and missile sites. With
terrorists, they don't care about these targets as they know they can not make a
dent in our defense capabilities. Their attacks are where they don't care if
they get killed as long as the kill a lot of us - the more people they can kill
the more successful they fell they were. So you want to avoid places with large
populations and with symbolic meanings.

The western states are going to be the safest, but not on the far West coast.
The reason for this speculation is that the whole east coast is going to be a
target so you want to get as far away from that as possible without being on the
far west coast which will also be a target. My guess is that Arizona, New
Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and such are the safest areas,
as long as you are 25 to 50 miles from large cities.

Am I paranoid about this?

I don't think so. Even the experts think we are going to get hit and so does
the president of the United States. At least he is making plans to survive
attacks. We should do no less???
