Okay, first off: I was being sarcastic...


It's my considered belief, or perhaps my youthful optimism, that indicates to me
that not only will homo sapiens be off this planet in less than one century, 
but will be more than capable of handling interstellar debris such as asteroids 
or other hazards.


Granted, it seems that governments do have the monopoly on space travel. 
However, not all governments are in on the plan; in fact, I wouldn't be a bit 
surprised if there weren't a few rogue countries that didn't have any problems 
with letting private companies handle space travel for their own means.


As an Anarchist at heart, I truly believe that there is a way around any problem
that the benevolent men and women we call bureaucrats can throw in our way. It 
just requires courage and initiative to begin.
