Forgive me, but this seems to be your assumption.  However, putting 
assumptions aside,  the  apt reasoning of extropians and many other 
transhumanists tends to be productive when it comes to analyzing issues and 
applying critical thinking toward the development of strategies for problem 
solving.

On another point you state:

It is essential to plan as carefully as we can for the future in light of 
the many possible dangers, both preventative and intangible, and to 
question our colleagues as well as ourselves.
