For more of this, look up books written by or about Gurdjieff or Ouspensky. They might be right, but I never could figure out anything important to do about the idea that one might, with effort, become more conscious. It is not obvious that more consciousness helps you act more effectively in your life, and it is not obvious that there is an effective procedure to achieve more consciousness.
