I think that in the USA, your wife's policy would be called "Universal Life" rather than "Level Term". I am calling attention to this distinction because the name "Level Term" sounds a lot like "Term Life", which is considerably different. A "Term Life" policy never accumulates any cash value; your coverage stops when your payments stop and the payments get higher as you get older.
