Subject: Cryo-preservation of cells

Cryo-preservation of cells:
Scott, I read your posting about the cryo-preservation
of cord-blood cells. To answer your question, Alcor or
CI does not offer this service. However, there is a
group of us who are trying to launch a business that
would cultivate and cryopreserve cells of verious
tissues from a person's body for future use in
stem-cell based regenerative therapies. We will be
offering the same service for pets as well. If you are
interested in this, please contact me via email.

Endless Petroleum:
This is based on a controversial theory by Thomas
Gold, who predicted that "depleted" oil reserves who
fill up again. This theory has great relevance for
Mars as well. As you know, the Martian meteorite found
in the Antarctic had "poly-cyclic aromatic compounds"
in it and that this was the evidence for past life on
Mars. Well, "poly-cyclic aromatic compounds" is a
fancy word for oil, which means that there is oil on
Mars. The only question is, how did it get there? Was
there life on Mars in the past, or is the oil of
non-biological origin? This issue was brought up in a
Wired interview with Thomas Gold.

Since they used gamma-ray spectrometers to detect
hydrogen on Mars. Perhaps it is not water that they
are looking at, but forzen methane. So now we know
that there is either lots of water or methane on Mars.
