The basic setting is a Michelson interferometer where long coherence X-rays make up to 1 million to and fro travels before exit. This ask for two gadgets: coherence length in the 100 000 km range and active, regenerative mirrors ( in fact, lasers with a gain power tunned to one). The coherence length implie the use of non-linear electromagnetic levels in nuclei as lasing medium. To pump these levels, or more exactly broad, unstable, energy levels above them, I must have a powerful source of radiation in the Mev range. The traditional way to solve that problem has been to use nuclear explosion. Having not access to that technology, I plan to use up to one million entangled optical photons produced by a metal vapor laser. The entanglement is produced by passing the laser beam between two nearby mirrors. Because the distance between mirrors is smaller than an atom, they are in fact interference paterns in an holographic picture. That hologram is built in an photographic emulsion more than a foot thick, a product used for half a century in the detection of cosmic rays. The metal vapor laser must deliver somthing as 120 MW of continuous power ( more in fact, because it works in pulse mode), the electric energy to feed it is at the level of a large nuclear plan. It has to be produced by a dedicated power source. The obvious choice is a magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) burner. For simplicity, the primary energy source choosen is propane burning in high strength hydrogen peroxide. Progress repport: A stable (2 tons) table has been found for making holograms. Spin cast mirror concentrators for multi-beams optical laser has been experimented. A product for making bombs used in the cold forming of the MHD burner has been tested ( near catastrophe). It may be too a good way to solve social and political problems :-) Yvan Bozzonetti. --part1_149.fcdac9a.2a37b724_boundary Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" [ AUTOMATICALLY SKIPPING HTML ENCODING! ] Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=19259
