I want to just note that going off topic is a time
honored tradition here and I support a reasonable
amount of it. I believe that well-mannered and
thoughtful discussions of various issues relevant to
our lives serves to build a sense of community that
otherwise wouldn't exist if all we ever talked about
were strictly cryonics-related issues. I'm not
advocating being any more off-topic that we already
are on average, but the occasional rant is very
telling about the ranter, and I like the idea of
becoming more familiar with this very special and
small group of cryonaut-minded individuals. I'm sure
many will disagree with me .... but at least they know
me just a little better, hmmm?

Now to something more on-topic...

"With my background in survey research and knowledge
diffusion and utilization studies, I have often
wondered if I could be of some help to the expansion
of cryonics through some sort of marketing strategy
linked to targetted research."

This was my thinking when I conducted my cryonics
survey published in the Journal of Evolution and
Technology in Dec 1998.

Here are some new questions:

Would you agree to cryonic suspension . . .

if it were free?

if cryonicists announced they'd successfully revived a
dog from cryonic suspension?

if you had a terminal illness and had no more than 6
months to live?

if you had a terminal illness and the doctors told you
the cure for your disease was only 5 to 10 years away?

if your spouse wanted to be suspended and wanted you
to do it as well?

if the leader of your church said that it violated no
religious doctrine and gave his/her blessing?

for your spouse if he/she had a terminal illness and
had no more than 6 months to live?

for your child if he/she had a terminal illness and
had no more than 6 months to live?

What other factor or combination of factors would
persuade you to seriously consider cryonics?
