X-Message-Number: 20074 Date: Mon, 16 Sep 2002 09:20:04 -0400 From: Thomas Donaldson <> Subject: CryoNet #20065 - #20073 For those who wondered about my message re: fuel for vehicles. There is at least one company which does NOT get hydrogen from fossil (or non fossil) gases or liquids such as propane or oil. It has a method using a compound of boron with a catalyst to produce hydrogen from water. No carbon waste at all. It's claimed that the boron waste isn't gaseous and therefore will not pollute the air (and can be reconverted back into the special boron compound, too). And yes, there are other companies working on ways to make hydrogen from gases such as propane, and then use the hydrogen in a fuel cell. But we may see even more surprising ways of fueling our cars, buses, and trucks in the near future, too. Best and long long life for all, Thomas Donaldson Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=20074
