The Cryonics Institute's 42nd human whole body patient died yesterday
(Saturday) and reached us last night, a man of moderately advanced years who
died of liver failure. He was a CI member with arrangements in place, and
while we don't have all the details yet, it appears the procedure went fairly
smoothly. Washout and perfusion were done at a local mortuary, and begun
within an hour after death.

At the CryoSummit last month the organizations agreed to inform each other of
impending suspensions and allow approved observers. In this case, however,
there was not time for observers to be sent and not much to observe. We were
not even informed until after the washout and perfusion, and the patient
arrived packed in dry ice.
