Hello, Iggy and fellow cryoneters...

Rudi Hoffman here. Yes, Iggy, you are right about some problems with life
insurance for convicts. As it stands right now, it is impossible to get life
insurance coverage for anyone who is 1. in prison or jail currently 2. has
been convicted and is likely to go to jail... or even 3. someone on
probation.

Interestingly, I have had no less than three cryonics clients in which the
above has been an issue and a "deal stopper." 2 situations were
incarcerated, and one on probation.

With one ouyt of every 32 people in jail or on probation in the USA,
according to the last "Reason" magazine article I read yesterday,
incarceration/probation is actually an issue, and yet another underwriting
hoop to jump through.

With draconian drug laws the way they are, it is not just "violent offenders"
that are incarcerated. The same article used a figure of 6.6 million folks
either incarcerated or on probation in the US. This is a bunch of people. I
suspect all of them are not really "bad dudes." Although some of them
certainly are. But thousands of them are nonviolent offenders who may have
been caught with a few joints or some personal use cocaine. I guess you can
figure out my position on the so called "war on drugs" as more of a "war on
personal freedoms." But this is my opionion, I could be wrong, and I am not
trying to start a "drug war" thread on cryonet.

Folks, please stay out of jail and healthy, especially until we can get your
life insurance in place!:)

Warm Regards and Respect for all,

Rudi
