Subject: A Creekside Preserve/Ventureville - cooping of cryonicisists
References: <>

I was wondering if you have used the combine talents and resources available
from cryonicists to save money?

E.g. I am sure there are cryonicists who are computer/networking people who
can do the wiring, computer set up, etc. for your Preserve for free in labor
or provide "computer guts" at cost, perhaps, builders/developers, truck
drivers, retiring nurse/doctor to be on call on site, a nursery owner who
can give you those trees at cost, a grocery store owner who can get you jump
started with excellent pricing on food, a local office supply store
owner/manager, etc.

This happens a lot at churches when the parishioners participate - from what
I see this works not too bad for them. They are also tax exempt :o) What is
Creekside Preserve tax status?

Is there a way to know of what cryonicists actually do for living and what
kind of assistance they can provide? Cryonics being so private, I am not
sure if there is too much information available. I guess what I am driving
at - "a penny saved is a penny earned?" and everyone needs a "penny" :o)

Sincerely,

IGGY Dybal

" and "soul"
and "supreme being" and all :o) This is highly debatable and is a totally
different topic all by itself.

We all operate under assumption it will work based on the scientific facts
available and our interpretation of them, however, how about "Plan BE" -
what
if it doesn't work? What if, let's just think of it, what if, it's
impossible to revive you after death? Ever??? :o( I strongly hope we all
will see each other in about 5,000 years, but have you considered the
possibility of "Plan B"? :o) What if it's impossible to revive you in the
current state of cryonics, and you are just a "frozen meat" :o) but future
generations will find another way of preserving you as an individual - e.g.
memory upload which will totally negate cryonics. The same thing - your mind
is safe, no chill though :o) Would this mean that "cryonics" as we know it
has not contributed to that? Sometimes, ideas are totally abandoned and
things are happening the way we never thought of before. I hope you'll agree
with me on that.

I agree with your eagerness to see the progress, but as I read your
statement, the same you are saying can be applied to the *past*achievements
that were at one point "enslavement" of nature - plague, small pox,
tuberculoses, no running water, etc. Everything we have now *is* a product
and extension of what we have had before - letters in your mailbox/e-mail -
extension of cave paintings, the latest HIV drugs - herbal remedies that
first people were using, car/airplane/shuttle/time machine - are followers
of just walking, running, riding a horse, cryonics - mummification/religion
combined with the awesome power of science. You get the idea. We expand on
the past, you appreciate it, you learn from it in the present and transpond
into the future.

In my opinion, it's the only way to treat life. Hope I am making sense?

The most interesting thing is that no matter what you and I think about it,
neither you or I will *personally* be able to change the course of events or
history. It's the market and a *collective* actions of people (read masses,
consumers) that will drive it and unless the market is "shown the money" :o)
cryonics will remain in the same state it's now - oddity, calculated facts
and possibilities of an elite few thousands of percentage of population. It
may reach the status of mummification in Ancient Egypt or I can even see it
reaching the status and level of religion.

But then we will all go back in circles - an idea that has not been proven
although accepted by a majority of the humanity. What gives then?

I am sure than when "cryonics thinkers " like Robert Ettinger or Jerry B.
Lemler and many others die, what do you think will be the last thing they'll
think of? Family, close ones, "how great it was to try?" or "man, there is
no end to the nature's enslavement?" :o) I think that this is all we can
ask of ourselves - "to try." Nothing more, nothing less :o) Life is fun! You
never know what will happen and this is the fun part! Keep thinking and
challenging each other - not "enslaving" yourself in one or two ideas :o)

Sincerely,
