X-Message-Number: 20420 Date: Sat, 9 Nov 2002 07:35:19 -0500 From: Thomas Donaldson <> Subject: CryoNet #20415 - #20418 About taping cryonics conferences: The very first point I would make is that MANY scientific and medical conferences are taped as a matter of course. The same is true of computer conferences. It is quite usual that you can buy books containing ALL the talks once the conference completes. This essentially means that the Cryonics Conference is doing something quite unusual in NOT providing tapes and even books. I would say it is unusual enough that some would raise their eyebrows at it, asking themselves: who are these guys? This becomes especially noteworthy given the fact that the price of the Alcor Conference has now become much like those of other scientific/medical/computing conferences. Attendees at such conferences actually EXPECT as a matter of course to receive books containing the talks. You don't have to ask me to prove this. Just look in journals for the ads for conferences of various kinds, and see what the conference provides. Best wishes and long long life for all, Thomas Donaldson Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=20420
