I'm finding this trend especially unsettling because it seems to mirror the
outlook of our Muslim adversaries, who definitely want to impose a premodern
fantasy vision of pure Islam on the rest of the world>>

Well said, I suggest more serious fantaisies:
- Make dust fair: An X-ray black powder hable to render convective the full
mass of the Sun (giving it a 600 billion years life).
- A promotion action in favor of the "tontons macoute", the bad spirites of
Haitian folklore and make a tax on their use.
- A study of Cindirella pumplekinds and how to turn them into state-coaches.
- A study of the hopscotch and how much it cost to the taxpayer.
- Sending back the holy ghost to Central Park.

Bye,

Yvan Bozzonetti.

DS, he condemn more than forty millions people
to the grave. Making 10 000 deaths with a tactical nuke on the HQ of such an
organization would be a global benefit. Well you may try to convince the pope
he is wrong... Good luck.

More generally, any social system: religion, politics or anything else
disconnected from the reality of the physical laws will goes awry soon or
later with dire consequences. Militarized communism ( see North Corea) or
speculative capitalism (see USA) are good to go in the same bag as is
nationalism (see India, USA,...) There are some special countries with good
democratic practices, France to name one, where to compete in a presidential
election, you must have said that the nazi gas chambers was a "detail" or
that immigrants have an odor problem. The odor won the last ballot...

If you think that "diatribe" is OT, well, but forget about the technological
survivability of the society, and then what is the point about cryonics?
