To Yvan,

What exactly were you referring to with regards to religious rooted ideology? I
did not understand that comment. I used space exploration as an example. I
think I was making reference to for example popular media, such as science
fiction literature where one imagines great visions of the future, often
miscalculating how long it will take to develop such technology. I didn't mean
that it couldn't be done, but as everyone seems to agree, the world is run by
those with different agendas than ours. Politics, or the deteriorating
educational infrastructure certainly does not promote scientific advance. I am
not a scientist. I am a nurse. I am very interested in immortalism, cryonics
etc, but as I have learned I am the exception in my community. Most people I
have met are not interested in the slightest on these topics, and unfortuneately
they are in the majority. Cryonics as a science will only advance with
consistent pushing on our part, as certainly if some government ethics
representatives have their way, all forms of science that do not conform with
religious fundamentalists will be banned. Perhaps Canada is looking better and
better as a safe haven for cryonicists. We have already demonstrated a growing
infrastructure in Toronto, increasingly able to assist with cases. Perhaps
Toronto will be the next Scottsdale.
