I disagree with Paul Wakfer about the value to cryonics of the "freeze the 
rainforest" proposal. Over and above the fact that it is a Good Idea and
should be supported for that reason alone, there is this: If it gets off
the ground, it will be publicized, and that publicity will associate
ultra-low-temperature freezing with preservation for the future, and generally
with good vibes. Someone who has accepted the idea of cryonic preservation
of specimens, to save a species, is one step closer to accepting the idea
of cryonic preservation of individuals, to save those individuals.
