The problem with USians is that they have a lifeboat mentality - they are rich (at the expense of the rest of the world), want to keep it that way, and when it comes to the crunch (probably created by bad US foreign policy) they are prepared to sacrifice everyone else so that they can survive themselves. This is a generalisation of course - not all USians think like that, if they think about it all. From a cryonicist's point of view this is incredibly myopic. Everyone should have the right to live as long as they like but this will not be possible (even for the rich) if the world's only superpower is intent on creating wars (which will create more terrorism) for the sake of corporate greed and obscuring domestic economic/political problems.
