X-Message-Number: 21386 Date: Tue, 11 Mar 2003 20:11:42 -0000 Subject: "patients" or "subjects" or "test subjects"? From: <> Referring to Dr Lemler's comment (via alcor news) about the media questioning the use of the word "patient" for cryopreserved cryonicists, I wonder if the word "subject" or the phrase "test subject" may be useful or appropriate. When arguing with cryonics naysayers on the net, I often call cryonics "an experiment" with a control and an experimental group. Scientists conducting experiments, and perhaps even medical experiments, often refer to the members of the experimental (and perhaps control) group as "subjects" or "test subjects." Am I correct? Perhaps this nomenclature may prove useful. --randy Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=21386
