Trygve's answer:

Cryonet is the main discussion forum for cryonics related matters.
It is common to forward to it topics and information that first appeared
elsewhere.
It is common at many letter circles that people quote information found
elsewhere,
that is called free speech.
I didn't forward Davids post or repost it as a separate post, I rather
included his post in quotation marks in my own larger post with his original
header included as a refference to where his post first had apppeared, and
my own header in what I sent out, showed that I cross posted to both
Cryonics Europe and Cryonet.

If you don't want to be quoted, then do not post,
or at least explicitly copyright what you post, and state in the copyright
conditions
that you only grant permission for your post to appear at "list of locations
that you permit it to be displayed or copied to".
Let us let free speech be the rule so that all can be quoted that is not
explicitly both copyrighted and given a limited circulation by the
copyright's owner.
I for one does not want a society where censorship is the rule and it is
forbidden to quote anything without explicit permission!
Nor do I want a mailing list where the rule is that nothing can be quoted
without explicit permission.
Let those that want to limit circulation limit themselves, I for one will
not impose self-censorship upon myself.
If someone attacks me like David did in his two original posts, then I
retain the right to quote his attack and to respond in any open and
uncensored forum of my own choice!
That is what Liberty and the first amendment is all about!
In these days with star chambers returning to the United States, with people
once again being: arrested without warrants, detained without being charged,
charged without getting to know what they are charged with, attacked by
witnesses who are given anonymity, judged by judges unknown to the defendant
and the general public, and subjected to witnesses, prosecutors and judges
that the defendant doesn't even get to face, then it is more important than
ever to stand up and oppose anyone who doesn't want his attacks to be thrown
into the public light, or to be held personally accountable for what attacks
he has made!
The patriot act part 2, allready before Congress will even make it a crime
to let the public know who that are arrested and what these are arrested
for!
So David next time you post an attack on someone, don't be surprised if the
person you attack, himself selects what forum he would like to respond in,
and responds in full openness!
And if that is a crime, then I will make the most of it:
When Liberty is outlawed, criminal becomes a word of honor! And you can
quote me on it!
If I find something in a mailing list that attacks me, then I am the one
that selects what free and open forum I will respond in! That is an even
more important principle than copyright, and believe me, I am a very strong
supporter of copyrights. In the legal system it can be compared to the right
to compell witnesses to appear, and believe me, that is the only duty I want
to oppose on anyone!

Sincerely,
Trygve Bauge.
