For Brian Stewart again:

About health insurance once unemployed: the first thing I would do
is to go to my insuror and ask if they have continuation plans
for your existing health insurance. The second thing I would do
is to go to the government of the state where I am a resident and
ask if they have any special health insurance for those unemployed
or disabled. It WILL cost MONEY, regardless, but when such state
health insurance programs exist, they are often better than any
continuation plan offered by your health insuror.

If you have not lost your job because you were disabled, then
eventually you will get another job. Once you do, you can also
look around for health insurance plans which have special provisos
for those who are unemployed, and choose them so long as you
have a choice.

The guys such as Randy who are specialists in life insurance
for cryonicists may also be able to help, though I don't know how
well they know about health insurance. They're certainly worth
contacting, though (usually their email address is in their
messages).

Best wishes and long long life,

                    Thomas Donaldson

PS: I am hardly an expert either, but I am instead looking at myu
own experience with health insurance, when I first became disabled
with a brain tumor well over 10 years ago.
