I for one am interested in low-cost alternatives to cryonics, including 
plastination. What I read about it on the Web sounds rather brutal as to 
the procedure ("defatting" in particular--what might that do to the brain's 
delicately encoded information?) but I agree it should be evaluated. I'm 
also wondering if plastination (or some other alternative) could be handled 
using funeral personnel as intermediaries. Or if not, what would it take to 
set up an institution that would qualify, if individuals can't enlist the 
services directly? All this should definitely be looked into further. I 
have only a limited time budget, but hope others who are interested will 
put me on your mailing list.
