For Thomas Donaldson: Thanks. I have the information on continuing the
insurance, but I can't afford it (well over $300 a month). I haven't
come across much as offered by the state (I am trying to get recertified
with the Divisin of Vocational Rehabilitation for my problems with
depression, but, since I held a job for 7 years, I probably don't qualify
[according to the person I talked with]).

Oridinarily I would not have let it go this long, but at first my former
employer gave me the continuation information after the deadline had
passed. At that time their reasoning was that, since I was first placed
on an unpaid leave of absence and, therefore, was not paying into
insurance via deductions from my paycheck, *they* didn't have to pay in,
and, therefore, although I had not lost my job until January, the
deadline had already passed, and I was without insurance at the end of
January. Early this month the Union and I finally got them to admit that
they were at fault, and they extended the insurance until the end of
March and gave me a new copy of the paperwork. Over the telephone they
asked me to destroy the old paperwork, something I have not done!
