THE IMMORTALISTS is a novel by Richard Cummings, who has kindly sent me a
copy. (Imprint.com, 2002)

It's very funny, with fast, compressed action. A few of the gems of wisdom,
paraphrased:

Everybody wants two things--to get laid, and to live forever.

Disease and death are big business. In the U.S., more people make a living
from cancer than die from it.

Some people think happiness makes up in height what it lacks in length.

Anyway, the "immortalists" come in all flavors, and some of them are
recognizable people, occasionally with the names unchanged. Cryonicists wear
silver bracelets and uploaders wear gold bracelets. (And that's not all.)
