Another list member expressed concern about doctors that might, as you say
above, object to or "impede" cryonics procedures -- he asked if anyone knew
of a physician who was knowledgeable of (or sympathetic to) cryonicists in
the area he lived. I was wondering if anyone has considered or set out to
compile a directory of doctors or other medical personnel who are sympathetic
to the cryonicist cause.

Such a directory could be organized by state and county and perhaps list
names and numbers of doctors or, instead, local contacts who keep some
records of physicians, hospitals, clinics, and retirement facilities in their
area.

Has this already been done? Has this been attempted and already failed? If
so, I apologize for being redundant.

However, I'd be curious to know why this can't be done if it did indeed fail.
Is it simply too large scale, too ambitious? Was anonymity a concern? Is the
stigma so strong that medical professionals are wary of admitting to even
cooperating at all with cryonics? If anonymity is the main roadblock, could a
directory of local volunteer contacts be used to maintain a level of
anonymity which could ease or allay such concerns?

If this sort of directory has any potential at all, I think the benefits
would be many-faceted.
