After nanotech will come femtotech and picotech... all the way down to the hypothesized strings, allowing us to completely leaving hyperspace as we know it. Perhaps we will upload ourselves into progresively smaller substrates. There may be a extremely "strong" force or reason that would account for 100% of all civilizations in our universe to "transcend" in this way.
