By now many readers of Cryonet will know of my new fiction work, TALES OF SKASTOWE, which I have been selling for $15 US. However the book is produced in Australia, and the Australian dollar has been rising against the US dollar, thus cutting into any money I might make from the book and threatening me with an outright loss if I continue to publish at $15 US. I don't know how fast or long this rise will continue, either. And if you aren't used to looking at currency exchange rates, then look at the financial pages of your newspaper --- or a good financial magazine. This is NOT a sales trick. I am presently trying to find a US publisher, and that will solve this problem. Until then, I continue to publish the book myself. I have decided to raise the price of TALES OF SKASTOWE to $16 US starting on 1 July 2003 (this year). I hope that I won't have to raise it higher. As all the students of currency know, currencies with a high value make exporting harder and importing easier, while those with a low value have the reverse effect: making exporting easier and importing harder. So goes the world. Best wishes and long long life to all, Thomas Donaldson Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=21751
