Apologies if I missed some discussion - can you tell me why this is? It seems obvious that if we could vitrify whole bodies we could resuscitate patients without waiting for nanotech - just thaw them out and attach the jumper leads, no? This brings a couple of questions to mind. First, could we just section the patient into appropriate sized chunks and vitrify them, and sort of crazy-glue them back together and resuscitate? With current technology? Could we thaw a vitrified person out and revive them without causing further ischemia? If such things were possible, you could freeze and section a chimp, then assemble and revive it a few months later - and if you could do that you'd get funding for cold rooms the size of the great pyramid. -- Internet: | Accept Everything. | UUCP: {uunet, mcvax}!munnari!extro!pete | Reject Nothing. | Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=2179
