Except in the > procedure of taking limits, but we know any limit we take does > not correspond to physical reality, but to our interpolation. No, we don't know that limits don't correspond to reality. It is an assumption that Aristotle made, but I see no reason to go along with it. We have the edge on Aristotle -- we know about the photoelectric effect and that energy comes in quanta, which is the source of the infinities in question. You have not demonstrated Aristotle's claim, just asserted it, whereas mainstream physicists, make a counter claim -- and have the detailed theory and calculations to back their claim up. > To be more positive, without an empirical necessity we should > assume nothing about the physical universe. Except that infinities don't exist, eh? Please excuse me for not discussing your example about faeries. I prefer to stick to photons, for which we have an accepted scientific theory. Also you say: > The popularity of a theory has nothing to do with its necessity. when it has been extensively peer-reviewed, it has a lot to say about its scientific validity, which is all I'm interested in. Yvan Bozzonetti: > I find stange as you accept Heisenberg's principle but don't accept > to use it. Your position is merly religious: "I have faith in a book and > don't use any reason", well, I think the traditional bible is best in that > use than Kaku's work. Anyone can check what I wrote and see that I never rejected the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. On contrary, I believe in it, as I do in (almost) anything which has empirical support and has passed the scientific peer-review process. There seems no point in further debate, since Yvan consistently misreads everything I say.
