Peter Merel asks about the cryonics situation in Australia.

Cryonics Institute already has several patients from Australia, and several
current members. We have mortuary cooperation in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide,

and (not recently) in Perth. There is a volunteer group ready to help, Cryonics
Association of Australia. Mr. Merel apparently is going to be pretty far to
the northeast in Queensland, so another mortician closer to him should be
found, which should not be difficult.

The main problem in Australia is the possibility of several days delay in

paperwork, plus long flight times to Michigan. Thus it is important, if
possible,
to arrange for local washout and perfusion, which adds to the cost. But as
far as we can tell at present, our future vitrification procedures will be

applicable by local morticians after training and equipment, as are our current

procedures, and no large price increase for those future procedures seems
likely.
