Dear Charles and Dear His Detractors and Dear The Lot Of You:

In case you haven't noticed, what we have here is a mess that threatens 
to become a quagmire. Staff churn, journalistic scandals, lawsuits, the 
full magilla. It's going to take careful, patient work for Alcor to 
sort it out.

This work can not proceed by assigning blame, demanding explanations, 
inventing conspiracies, or handing out recriminations.

It will proceed as people assume responsibility for their own actions, 
forgive those that need forgiveness, forget those who are unforgivable, 
and get on with constructive work again.

Alcor pretty much has to sue LJ I suppose. But none of the rest of all 
these words are necessary and so none of them can possibly help anyone.

Please, if you don't have a constructive suggestion, or if you don't 
absolutely have to write about this subject, remember the words of the 
immortal Emily Postnews: "Wisdom is in knowing when not to follow up."
