It occurs to me that what happens to ANY dead body is not particularly pleasant! Does the funeral industry widely spread what goes on during the preparation of a body for display at a funeral? From what I can tell, cryonics outfits are very open about the procedures (and costs) than the regular funeral industry. Maybe if Alcor were to suggest that regulations be set up such that funeral parlors have to detail exactly how their bodies are prepared prior to burial, and crematoriums have to describe what goes on when a body is reduced to ash, that they would be happy to be included under the same guidelines, comparing how much they "mutilate" a body prior to storage!
