X-Message-Number: 22845 From: "David Pizer" <> Subject: Bioethics good or bad? Date: Sat, 15 Nov 2003 12:36:00 -0800 Hi all My thanks to everyone on Cryonet and the Venturist Discussion Group who responded about the present bioethics problem. I had not realized that there were some recognized bioethics members who were moving to counter the majority. As you recall, I had pointed out that the majority of those in the recognized boethics movement, at present, are against things like cloning, for a host or reasons, and very long term life extension, because they think if we live too long we will use up more than OUR FAIR SHARE of resesouces. Also they are against stem cell research because they consider it using one life (and then destroying it) to help a different life. If anyone has any quotes handy (a paragraph or a page) they can email to me about the counter force, (those who bioethics leaders who support cloning, long extended human life and stem cell research), I would appreciate it. (PS: I can't open attached files). David Pizer Content-Type: text/html; [ AUTOMATICALLY SKIPPING HTML ENCODING! ] Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=22845
