This all reminds me of something very interesting to me about the fact
that most of my fellow immortalists are Libertarians. Has anyone really
considered the free market implications on health care as absolute cures
for diseases are considered? Just on supply and demand and free market
basis what is the incentive for a company to cure themselves out of a
market? Why should pharma companies cure cancer when they are making so
much money, hand over fist, just treating it? Want to know what possibly
is the real reason truly cure promising medical technology such as stem
cell research and therapeutic cloning is under current administration
attack? It's convenient to blame the religious right, and they do play a
part (but who is pushing their buttons I wonder?), but don't forget big
pharma, maybe follow the campaign money. Just think about supply and
demand as medical care goes. As more people are cured, there is less
demand, yes? Doesn't this mean prices go up? Will the birth rate
bringing new people as customers be enough to offset this? If not then
it might be that unless the government, uncorrupted by corporate
influence (as if that were possible -- some real changes needed to make
that happen) and truly seeking to please their constituents,
artificially level the playing field via tax paid government subsidy,
maybe not everyone will be getting cured.

What about Howard Dean? He's a doctor, anyone know his position on stem
cell and SCNT? He is also the likely winner of the Dems nomination. Bush
has no Repooplican (they keep bringing up and trying the same old failed
crap) competition.

Or they did it just to be bloody minded against what they really do see
as their foe the western nations, anything the west wants oppose it
regardless. I hope, though, that this is not the case especially as it
was I that first reported that vote here.

Signature Memetic Virus--The worst enemy of those who now or will need medical
care is the uninformed politician or moral fanatic who proscribe what doctors
are allowed to prescribe and research, with the consent of their patients. Those
who understand this are strongly encouraged to modify this to fit their
personality, and add this to their signature file, and organize to recover our
freedom from Big Brother. For those who wait until they are sick, it will be too
late. Those who suffer from diseases which might have been cured by advanced
medical research or schedule 1 drugs banned by Big Brother, have the right to
hold accountable those who sat on their hands or worse, deferred their
responsibility for personal and humanity's survival to unseen mystical agents,
while they remained ill and dying.
