It is just stupid to mix politics into cryonics, if there is no clear and present relevance. "Tim" (, # 22968) writes about Israel's ".......appalling human rights record, indiscriminate bombing of civilians, and the 'seizing' of Palestinian land despite the border agreements that were made after the war in 1960's." This is disgusting ignorance or/and stupidity. Israel's treatment of enemies has been much more humane and restrained than almost any other in history. There has been no indiscriminate bombing of civilians, and collateral damage has been much smaller than the situation would justify. As for border agreements after the 1967 war--there were none, except temporary truce lines. What idiots or ignoramuses like Tim forget, or somehow never knew, is that the Arab hatred of Israel and the Jews is OBVIOUSLY NOT the result of the "occupation"--because that hatred was just as intense long before the occupation. The Arab wars of aggression against Israel (and before that, terrorism against Jews in Palestine) occurred BEFORE the 1967 war, as well as after. The 1948 war was waged by all the Arab countries in violation of their UN charter obligations, with of course never a penalty suggested by the UN. Except for Egypt and Jordan, all the Arab countries to this day maintain a formal state of war against Israel. The terrorist organizations say openly that their aim is the total destruction of Israel, and a majority of Palestinians support them. As I said, bad discussion drives out good. Because that moron Tim irritated me, I have to raise the ante and perhaps weaken cohesion inside cryonics. We have little in common except cryonics/immortalism, and therefore it ought to be seen as obvious that we should restrict a forum such as this to matters of central concern (except perhaps for strictly entertainment purposes, such as abstract philosophy).
