"Morbidly boring" is a statement about your attention span or comfort
zone, not a statement about exercise. Attention span is trainable.

Exercise is "exhausting" only if you are doing something new, or too
much of it. Walk (then run, when the walking is too easy) 20 minutes
every other day for a month and you'll get over the feeling that it's
exhausting. (Maintenance of aerobic fitness seems to take one 20
minute run per week for me, but developing it takes more.)

"waste of precious time" is simply a statement that you have goals
that rank above longevity, which was the point I was making earlier.
You're agreeing with me.

Your time estimates are distorted to get your desired conclusion. My
exercise regimen is 3 or 4 hours a week. No gym is required. I use
less than $200 of dumbbells, which I own, and a pair of running shoes.
Sometime this year I'll shift from gaining muscle to doing
maintenance, and at that point I expect to be able to get it done in 2
hours a week.

If exercise gives you a few more years, technology might move forward
during those few years so it could save you from dieing at all.
