It may be worth considering that there is no such thing as "government" in
any absolute sense, only groups of individuals whose social status means
that other individuals cooperate with them in ways that normal people do not
cooperate.

Looked at in that way, it seems most sensible for the Alcor management to
deal with the matter in the way they did. Who knows, it may mean that some
of these people with the aforesaid social status have been forced to
consider cryonics on a rational, rather than reactive (jump to conclusions)
basis. Maybe in the years to come they will join Alcor or CI themselves.

It may well be that the Rev David Koresh could have been said to have made a
principled stand at Waco, and look where that got him.

Pragmatism rules, OK!
