Subject: Linda Lopez - Champion of Cryonics

It is hard to overestimate the extremely important contribution that
Arizona State Representative Linda Lopez has made to whatever successes
that Alcor has achieved so far in the Arizona Legislature. She has used
her leadership position as Minority Whip to tremendous advantage behind the
scenes. She has invested more time and effort to learn about this subject
than any other legislator, reading our website and endeavoring to
understand an issue that was totally new to her as it was to all of the
legislators. She has no personal interest in cryonics, but she is a
recognized champion of human freedom of self-determination, so was willing
to take on our cause without thought of any possible political consequences
to herself. She is a courageous, conscientious, and compassionate
legislator.

Bruce Klein has put together a nice page on Linda Lopez at
http://www.imminst.org/forum/index.php?s=&act=ST&f=69&t=3262&#entry28030
Near the bottom of the page is campaign contribution information. My wife
and I have both contributed the maximum, the first political contribution I
have made in 30 years, and the second I have made in my lifetime. She
deserves our support.

I am proud to say that I know this fine lady personally, and knew her as an
outstanding legislator (and person) before this issue came up. One of her
favorite stories is how she wanted to become Whip (and loves the title)
because she thought it involved leather and chains, but was disappointed to
find that instead it only involved trying to herd Democrats (which is kind
of like herding cats).

Best wishes,
